competitors competing at the Teams Carnival to be held at
Dixon Park, hope the weather remains favourable. Also good luck to
the members of our High Performance Team who are competing at the Ocean
Assault Carnival at Kawana Waters in Queensland.

To all Club
Directors of Surf Sports, there will be a meeting on the 27th November
2008 commencing at 6pm at the Branch Office, this will be a great
opportunity to meet your new Branch Director of Surf Sports Peta
Purcell, and discuss any problems you are having at Club level with

LIFESAVING:
Attention
all Club Captains: Please don't forget you only have 1
week after the end of the month to enter patrol hours on Surfguard. It
would be appreciated if you could start sending in your YELLOW Patrol
sheets to the Branch Office. Please ensure all proficiencies are
entered into Surfguard.
Clubs
are reminded that if they participate in any event outside of Surf Lifesaving,
Water safety, people power etc you must
lodge a Special Event Form to cover your members with Insurance.
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:
REMINDER:
Applications for Junior Lifesaver are due on the 10th December 2008 at
the Branch Office
2009 Junior
Lifesaver of the Year: All under 14 members who
believe they could be the next Junior Lifesaver of the Year should
apply through their Clubs. The male and female Branch winners will then
progress to the State Development Camp and interview process to
determine the State winners. For information on Junior Development and

TEAM: Congratulations to all members gaining selection
into the Hunter Interbranch Team who will compete at Catherine Hill Bay
in December. Selectors had a very difficult time choosing from the

Level 1 Coaching Course:
Objective:
To meet our strategic goal of delivering accreditated courses for our
members

Level One
Introductory Surf Coach Course will be conducted at the Hunter Branch
Office on the 9th & 10th January 2009. Friday 6.00pm to 9.30pm and
Saturday 8.30am to 3.00pm
Nominations are now being taken for the
2008 Newcastle Sports Awards which will be held on the 6th March
2009. The Award period is from 1.12.07 - 31.11.08 Nominations
close 1st December 2008 For applications please contact the Branch
Office.
