Another
week has been and gone, Christmas is just around the corner.
Congratulations to the members of the High Performance Team with
excellent results on their recent trip away. Well done to all
patrolling members with patrols going well. Good luck to those members
attending the Craft Carnival at Coffs Harbour and the NSW Premiership
Round 2 to be held at Wanda.

LIFESAVING:
Attention
all Club Captains:
Please don't forget you only have 1 week after the end of the month to
enter patrol hours on Surfguard. It would be appreciated if you could
start sending in your YELLOW Patrol sheets to the Branch Office.
Please ensure all proficiencies are entered into Surfguard.
Clubs are reminded that if they participate in any
event outside of Surf Lifesaving, Water safety, people power
etc you must
lodge a Special Event Form to cover your members with Insurance.

Applications for Junior Lifesaver are due on the 10th December 2008 at
the Branch Office

Junior Lifesaver of the Year: All under 14 members who believe they could be the next
Junior Lifesaver of the Year should apply through their Clubs. The male
and female Branch winners will then progress to the State Development
Camp and interview process to determine the State winners. For

SURF SPORTS:
A
reminder that NOMINATIONS CLOSE 1ST DECEMBER 2008 for the 2008
Newcastle Sports Awards which will be held on the 6th March 2009. The
Award period is from 1.12.07 - 31.11.08 For applications please
contact the Branch Office.
Level 1 Coaching Course:
Objective:
To meet our strategic goal of delivering accreditated courses for our
members

Level
One Introductory Surf Coach Course will be conducted at the Hunter
Branch Office on the 9th & 10th January 2009. Friday 6.00pm to
9.30pm and Saturday 8.30am to 3.00pm
To all Competition Secretaries: Could
all Clubs ensure their Carnival Entries are sent in to the Hunter
Branch Office by the Wednesday before a Carnival is
held. Thank you.
CONTAINER STORAGE FOR AUSSIES
The Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in Perth is
only 16 weeks away and Surf Life Saving Australia is starting work
on the venue again. In order to store your gear container or truck,
space will need to be allocated. Please contact Bob Welch ASAP on 08
9205 1044 or 0414 714 593, with details of the transport company
you will be using. Don't forget to mark your club name on both ends of
the container so that it can be identified when it arrives in Perth.
